It’s Monday, and that means it’s time for some new Music Vibez. At Tmrw.Tday, we love spreading the positive energy with the rhythms of Reggae.

And so does Kabaka Pyramid – but for him, it’s more than that.

Coming from Kingston, Jamaica, Kabaka blends the smooth vibes of Reggae with the lyricism of Hip Hop to create his unique style. For him, music is about communicating a message, and he does just that with his conscious lyrics of spiritual evolution. The name “Kabaka” is actually Ugandan for “King,” and that’s not all. Kabaka ties deep into his African roots; the long lasting survival of the ancient African Pyramids represent his desire for longevity in music. To him, music never dies, so the messages he spreads through his music will live to be told for generations to come.

His lyrics have resonated with audiences worldwide, as more and more people are beginning to recognize the healing power of conscious lyricism.

He has toured some of the biggest Reggae stages, playing to thousands of people in North America, Europe, Central America, and the Caribbean. He just finished touring with Damian Jr. Gong Marley in the United States, completing 30 shows nationwide. Not only did he tour with one of the biggest names in Reggae, but he did it with rave reviews. In 2015, he released his “Accurate” mixtape and received support from Major Lazer and Walshy fire – it was an instant hit with both Reggae and Hip Hop fans. Damian Jr. Gong Marley will actually be executive producing his latest project, with the one release already topping the Global Reggae Charts. He has collaborated with Tmrw.Tday veterans Chronixx and Protoje, and has been played on airwaves all over the world. He’s hit #1 on the BILLBOARD Next Big Sound Charts and has been featured in TheFader, MTV Iggy, Okayplayer, Reggaeville…the list goes on. In 2013, the Jamaica Reggae Industry Association awarded him the breakthrough artist of the year.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg for Kabaka. But, these awards and recognition don’t just speak for his success as a musician. More importantly, they show the acceptance of conscious music by fans all over the world. His goal to steer future generations toward harmony through music is exactly what he’s accomplishing, and it’s exactly what we hope to see more of. Nothing but positivity, riddim, and good vibez.
